Help keep our parks safe for everyone
Our parks and reserves are shared spaces designed for the whole community to enjoy, whether that's playing, exercising, relaxing, walking pets, or spending time with family and friends.
To help keep these spaces safe, please remember that playing golf and hitting golf balls is not permitted in City parks and reserves.
Why is golf not allowed in parks and reserves?
A golf ball may be small, but it can travel at speeds exceeding 200 km/h and over long distances when struck by a golfer. A stray golf ball can cause serious injuries to people and pets, as well as damage to vehicles, buildings, playground equipment, and other park infrastructure.
Unlike golf courses and designated practice facilities, public parks and reserves are often busy with children, families, walkers, cyclists, and other users, making it difficult to ensure everyone's safety.
Enjoy Golf Safely
If you'd like to practice your golf swing, please use a dedicated golf course, driving range, or approved golfing facility where the environment is specifically designed for the activity.
By using our parks and reserves as intended, you're helping create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for everyone in our community.
Thank you for helping keep our parks safe for all.
